Gangkiz (Hangul: 갱키즈) is a seven-member South Korean girl group formed by GM Contents Media in 2012.
It was announced that they would be traveling to Italy, Switzerland, and Austria to shoot their debut music video with T-ara's Hyomin. 10 million won was spent on their debut.
Over 35,000 names were submitted, and the name Gangkiz was chosen because it represented the image of 'cute bad girls'.[3]
Before the group was formed, three of the members, Jihyun, Sooeun, and Haein, were actresses under Core Contents Media. Sooeun appeared in a TV special called Singer and Trainee with T-ara and Core Contents Media trainee Song Ah-reum. Hyeji also drew attention for her successful modeling career. Somin was originally considered in the line-up of T-ara before debut.
